E.I. Medical Imaging is always looking to find ways to help its customers.  That includes ourt veterinary clients. If your veterinary practice’s new client numbers are down from what they were this time last year, its time to start thinking creatively about how you can increase new client visits. Here are five ideas to get you started.

1. Be visible.

To reach the most new clients as possible, your practice needs to pop up in all the places a potential client might try to find you. This means your practice should have a website and a Facebook and Twitter presence. If you’re a social media pro, take things up a notch and sponsor events in your community: a charity 5k, a booth at a pet expo or a little league team.

2. Don’t forget about your clients.

Your current clients may be the best source of new clients. If your clients are happy and satisfied with the care their pet receives, they’re likely to tell a friend about you. This goes both ways, too. If a client is unhappy, he or she is likely to tell more than just one person—and who knows what he or she might Tweet about your practice! So be sure you give every client and pet that walks in the door your five-star treatment.

3. Create a referral program.

Incentivize clients to encourage them to refer their friends and family to you. When that friend or family member shows up for a visit, reward your loyal client with some pet treats or a complimentary nail trim.

4. Have a party.

An open house is a great way to show off your practice and your awesome staff. Place ads in the local media for an open house and encourage everyone in your community to attend. Throw some hot dogs and burgers on the grill, plan some fun activities for the kids, and feature pets that are up for adoption. Hold a raffle and collect attendees’ contact information so you can follow up with them afterwards.

5. Assert your expertise.

You have a whole wealth of expertise and knowledge—show it off! Consider starting a blog, hosting a local radio show, writing a newspaper column, or partnering with a local TV station to host pet segments. Getting your face out there brings more awareness to your practice and what you have to offer.
