For the past 4-5 days in Colorado we have been dealing with some extreme rains and flooding. To give those not in our area an idea, our region along the front range gets about 16" of moisture annually. We received that amount of moisture in a 48 hour period. To say the least we had more water than the rivers, creeks and ditches could handle, resulting is some of the worst flooding in Colorado history.
In America we recently celebrated the 4th of July holiday, or Independence Day, and for some of us we even enjoyed an extra few days off of work since the holiday fell on a Thursday allowing for a day off on Friday and of course, the weekend.
This was a great celebration in my family as well because of the fact that I have a son celebrating his birthday on July 4 and my wife celebrates her birthday the day after. To say the least, we had a grand time with birthday cakes, fireworks and some mouth watering BBQ along with our time off on the long holiday weekend.
