Bantam Troubleshooting:
| Symptom: | Possible solutions: |
System does not power On (no blue light on Front of Bantam). |
1. Plug power supply in to Bantam and verify the battery is charged. Battery lights will indicate Yellow - Green – No lights, with a full battery. 2. Power Bantam on with power supply plugged in. (If Bantam will power on with the supply, but would not power on with a fully charged batter- Suspect a faulty battery). 3. Disconnect the power supply, and remove the battery from the Bantam. Using a metal conductor (I.E. a paperclip) connect “short” all 5 terminals located in the battery compartment of the Bantam. Remove the metal object and reinstall the battery. (This will reset a power on lockup that occurs when the battery is removed from the system with the power on). 4. Return to E.I. Medical for service. |
| When Charging, Red Battery light comes on. | 1. Verify that the correct power supply is being used (It is a 19v 3A power supply) 2. Replace battery. 3. Return to E.I. Medical for service. |
| No light is indicated when power supply is plugged into Bantam & battery is not charged. | 1. Verify that power supply has a green light. (If power supply does not have green light check outlet & replace power supply) 2. Return to E.I. Medical for service. |
| Glasses or monitor have power, but blue light on Bantam is off. | 1. Remove battery from system and allow system to cool for 15 - 30 minutes. (Note: using both monitor & glasses or 2 sets of glasses at the same time in hot weather can cause the system to overheat) 2. Return to E.I. Medical for service. |
| Display shows time and date, but no ultrasound image. | 1. Disconnect probe (Not all systems have this option) Check probe connector on Bantam for any bent or pushed in pins - straighten or pull out any suspect pins using a pair of needle nose pliers. 2. If using a sector probe, check probe for sound of the motor running by holding the probe up to your ear. If no sound is heard gently tap the probe in the palm of your hand and try again. 3. Return to E.I. Medical for service. |
| Image is "fuzzy" or not clear. | 1. Check glasses setup, ensure that the focus and IPD (left-right adjustment of displays) are set properly for you. 2. Adjust brightness & contrast. (A good rule for this is to adjust so that all parts of the grayscale located on the far left of the screen are visible). 3. Adjust system gains. (Gains should be set as low as possible while maintaining image depth & clarity). 4. Press PROG on the keyboard (not all systems have this option) verify the correct frequency is highlighted for your probe, and that integrate has a Y highlighted. 3.5 MHZ - frequency 3 @ 15 CM depth 5.0 MHZ - frequency 2 @ 12 CM depth
