PRO NXT & LITE NXT Firmware Update

To keep your NXT system optimized to perform at its highest level, you must upgrade your system to the most recent firmware/software version. 

The latest NXT update [Version 2.8.1] adds Herd IQ Aging to the Herd IQ range, alongside Binary Pregnancy detection. Where licensed, either model can now be assigned to your programmable keys, so you can switch between them with a single press. This release also introduces the new Repro workflow, which takes you through a complete herd visit from start to finish: set up a session with day-range groups, identify each cow by VID or EID tag or by simple numbering, watch live counts and aging results as you work, then review the visit and export it as a PDF, CSV and images. Since version 2.6.2 the NXT has also gained over-the-air updates, so future firmware can be installed directly from the unit without a USB drive, and an interrupted download now resumes where it left off instead of starting again. Also new since 2.6.2 are selective upgrades, an annotate key, a gestation table on the caliper, patient archiving, and a built-in help dialog and welcome tutorial. You can now enter caliper and annotate mode directly from replay to measure a frame after the fact, and this release improves replay and recorded video quality and fixes a number of issues, including duplicate saved images in caliper mode and an intermittent start-up fault.

1. Transfer the file onto your ultrasound’s thumb drive, then insert the thumb drive into the system's USB port. Power on.
2. To install the firmware update on your NXT, press the SELECT key to bring up the menus.
3. Navigate to SETTINGS, down to SYSTEM, and then select UPGRADE
4. Highlight the largest number for the most recent file and select UPGRADE.
5. The ultrasound will install the new firmware and reboot.
6. Agree to the terms for access to Herd IQ
7. Install your update where you have a wifi network available.  After the reboot, the ultrasound will ask for internet access to connect to our server and verify any Herd IQ licenses and updates.
