E.I. Medical Imaging Open For Business and Looking to Recover

Mon, Sep 16, 2013 @ 10:51 AM Jim Turner

For the past 4-5 days in Colorado we have been dealing with some extreme rains and flooding.  To give those not in our area an idea, our region along the front range gets about 16" of moisture annually.  We received that amount of moisture in a 48 hour period.  To say the least we had more water than the rivers, creeks and ditches could handle, resulting is some of the worst flooding in Colorado history.

Our office is very near the Big Thompson River and is in one of the areas that was dangerously impacted by the rain and the flooding.  To our North is the river and it left its banks and crept toward our offices but came short of reaching our building.  Roads were closed throughout the area and it was impossible to reach our office from the North, East or South.  For the safety of our employees, we elected to close our offices on Friday, September 13.

The other issue was with our employees and where they lived.  Some of them live in and around the areas most impacted by the flooding.  Although most of our employees had only to deal with the access issues mentioned, many were without power, water and other infrastructure items.  Most unfortunately for E.I. Medical Imaging, one of our employees lost his home and all his belongings. We have instructed that employee to take care of all the necessary steps getting his life back on track and his issues taken care of with Red Cross and FEMA. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this tragedy.

His story is not the only person impacted across the state and our thoughts and prayers are with all those that have lost their homes, their belongings and most importantly, their loved ones, neighbors and friends.  We will be doing all we can as a community to recover from this tragedy.

We have customers locally that are veterinarians, livestock producers and farmers. Since we are located in an area populated by many of these folks, they too have greatly suffered.  As always, the American Red Cross is doing their part, but more specifically for the farmer there have been many accounts set up to aid them in the recovery process. Once such account specific to the Colorado agricultural industry is the Colorado Farm Bureau. They have set up a specific fund for the disaster relief. Any help is appreciated.

It is business as usual here at E.I. Medical Imaging.  We are glad to have the large number of friends concerned for our business and our safety.  We will weather the storm and we will recover and we thank you for your patience.
