PRESS RELEASE: New firmware available for IBEX NXT models
Firmware release 2.8.1 for the IBEX NXT ultrasound models is now available for download and installation on the EIMI website. This is a large update that includes significant new features and the latest Herd IQ AI model, in addition to performance enhancements, faster upgrade speed, and bug fixes.
Notable additions include:
- Introduces the latest Herd IQ model: Fetal Aging
- Provides rapid gestational age estimates alongside a confidence indicator during a routine pregnancy scan of the bovine fetus – no alterations to technique or usage required.
- When both the Aging and Binary Pregnancy models are licensed, each AI model can be assigned to a customizable key, allowing the user to switch between the two interfaces with a single button press
- The aging model also introduces the Repro Workflow feature, which was designed to set up beef herd checks using visual or electronic cow IDs. The workflow allows the user to assign each patient to a gestation group based on the ultrasound findings, and collects a sample frame from each scan. Scan sessions can be exported as CSV or PDF reports once concluded.

- The new firmware will enable future updates to be done over wifi, without a USB download required.
- Interrupted downloads will now resume where left off instead of starting over
- Onboard welcome tutorial and help menu
- Welcome tutorial launches on initial bootup
- Can be dismissed and accessed at a later time
- Tutorial can be stepped through, or specific topics can be chosen from the drop down menu
- Feature additions:
- Annotate Key function
- Gestation table on caliper function
- Patient archiving
- Caliper and annotate functions are now accessible from the review menu replay on the PRO NXT, so that measurements and labels can be applied to previously stored images
The update can be downloaded here. Be sure to install where you have access to a wifi network with internet access, such as your home or office. The ultrasound will establish a connection to our server to access Herd IQ licenses and search for any additional updates.
