Over the last year, E.I. Medical Imaging has updated the arrays in our broadband ultrasound transducers in both IBEX and EVO model lineups.
The term broadband refers to a transducer’s ability to operate within a range of frequencies. In the past, customers have chosen a probe based on one set frequency. Modern options not only allow the user to manually change the depth and frequency at which the probe is operating, but in some cases they can even image using multiple frequencies and angles simultaneously.
Benefits of this type of transducer include the ability to provide better resolution or better penetration based on the user settings, and sometimes a reduction in the need for multiple transducers when one broadband probe might suit many applications.
